That being said, I found that the pairing wasn't all that easy. You have to connect to the bulb via WiFi which when you get the app installed on your device you have to do some tweaking. Now it asks you to add a device and when you click on the + icon to add your device it will pull up the local internet connection.
If you are like me and don't have a password on your WiFi then its a bit difficult to get it to recognize your settings as you 'have' to enter a password. So I entered a password and then it allowed me to connect in, but that was only after 14 tries before hand. But once it was paired I found a whole slew of options were available to me. As you can see in the picture to the right, that is an actual screen shot of what the app looks like on the phone.
The color wheel is settings that the light can change to. Now I must note, that in my personal experience I was not able to make the light change to all the shades found on this wheel, but did do the primary and some pastel colors nicely.
In the video below you will see an example of me cycling through the different colors and talking more about its features. You can use this bulb in a standard lamp or light socket, or with the weighted base provided. But the base doesn't do anything but support the light bulb.
This light would be amazing for a dance party or other similar house party. I use it in case the power goes out. It has from what I can tell a running time of 2hrs but I havent left it on longer than that.
Great post.. Thanks for sharing.
