Also the "solar" part of it doesn't charge the phone as quickly or as well as it should. You can pre-charge it by plugging it into a power supply or into a USB port. But it more of an external battery than a charging device. It will charge your item, but very very slowly and not enough to really matter, but will keep the battery from being at 0% too.
I have a samsung galaxy s4 so it might be that my phone is to much for it, so i don't know if it would be good on something else, like a non-smart phone. It boasts these features
- Charger can be Charged Up To 500 Times
- Compatible with iPad, iPhone, Tablets, Cell Phones, Digital Cameras, MP3 and Many Other Digital Devices
- Standard Adapters Include Micro USB and 30-Pin Apple Adapter in a 2-in-1 Cord
- USB Cable for Charging and Discharging
- Provides up to 8-Hours of Talk Time, 19-Hours of Listening Time and 4-Hours of Internet Time
I have never tired it on a tablet or anything else just with my phone. So in my personal experience it is good for keeping the phone alive while you are on your way to a wall charger. I would recommend it as an emergency back up, but not as a main charging solution.
