Walmart Plus - One-year in

I started a Walmart+ account back on June 11th 2025 not knowing what to really expect from the service. I heard a lot of mixed reviews when they first introduced the service and was very skeptical at first, because like most I already had an Amazon account. But what I wasn't aware of was all the of perks of having the W+ account.

Now, I want to be fully transparent in this review. I pay for the account myself and I do not get any kickbacks whatsoever. These opinions are 100% my own. So first off, you have the option of having a discounted membership if you are SNAP/EBT eligible and it doesn't have an expiration period (at the time of writing this) unlike Amazon Plus. Your membership options are $50yr with SNAP/EBT and about $100yr without. With W+ you have a ton of other benefits that you can use with your membership like Emergency Roadside Assistance, tire repair, booking travel arrangements, a membership to Peacock or Paramount+ (interchangeable every 3 months) and even $3k in Pet Insurance (with a $20 a month fee) free shipping, delivery from the store to your home (minimum $35 purchase required) instore contactless payments (you can scan the products and pay for them right from your cart) and more.

There is also Walmart Cash that can be saved up with the purchase of special items. It will say under some things (earn $1 dollar Walmart Cash for the purchase of this item.) WC is usable just like real money within the store or online or the app, and you can choose to use it or save it up and use it at a later time. Though admittedly I find myself buying products I normally wouldn't just to get the cash. It will still be within the category of things that I was going to buy like toothpaste. But instead of buying Crest, I will buy Arm and Hammer and get $1 Walmart Cash for buying it. I am not brand loyal when it comes to most things, so this just helps me discover new products and make a little money for doing so, which as a product reviewer is kinda my thing.

My current year to date savings has been $47.86 which means that the membership has paid for itself.

Some of the other perks are things like Gas Savings. Where you save $0.10 per gallon at Walmart, Exxon, Mobil & Murphy stations, and get member prices on fuel at Sam's Club too. You also get 25% off at Burger King. Free pharmacy deliveries. Free returns from home, and so much more.

In my personal opinion this membership is well worth it and helps save wear and tear on your car. Some delivery options do require tipping the driver, but with the current gas prices I think that is still cheaper than having to drive and use your own gas.

I know that I will be renewing my membership when its time to do so, just because I live in a rural area, and the closest Walmart is almost 30 miles one direction. So I'll be saving in gas alone. Not to mention, I have access to a streamiing service and my cat gets $3k in coverage for $20 a month.
