Carrier Oil Gift Set

I got this Carrier Oil Gift Set and was amazed that it wasn't "cheap" oils. They are really high quality and in a good 4oz size. Each by themselves have great benefits and properties ranging from hydrating the skin, to helping with acne.

I am really happy with this gift set. If you know someone who is into Aromatherapy or does messages or something like that, this would be an amazing thing to get them. However, if you are allergic to any of these you may want to test a small patch of skin before slathering it on, just until you see how it works on you.

AVOCADO OIL: Avocado oil is rich with vitamins A, E, and K. It has the ability to penetrate deep into your skin to restore elasticity and to make it softer than ever before. It is also great for restoring health to hair.

CASTOR OIL: If you are struggling with hair loss or poor hair health, this is a great product for you. It can also take your damaged skin and bring it to life with a healthy shine.

GRAPE SEED OIL: Rich in fatty acids, this oil encourages the regeneration of skin cells which ultimately keeps your skin youthful. It reduces the appearance of cuts and also cures itchy scalps if used as a deep conditioner.

SWEET ALMOND OIL: With vitamins A, E , B, & D, and also Zinc, Calcium, this oil gets absorbed without blocking pores. It is lightweight and odorless, and calms skin inflammation, making your skin touchably soft and smooth.

COCONUT OIL: Coconut oil deeply moisturizes and softens your skin. It does the same for your hair, thus improving hair that is dry, frizzy, and suffering from split ends. Bring your tired skin and dry hair back to a healthy more rejuvenated look.

Basic Homemade Lotion Recipe

Ingredients

2 to 2 1/2 tablespoons (3 to 8g) Emulsifying wax
(depending on how thick you want it)

1/2 teaspoon (2g) Stearic Acid (stabilizer derived from plant oils)

1/3 cup (75ml) Carrier Oil (see below for suggestions)

1/2 cup (125ml) distilled Water

1 teaspoon (5ml) Vitamin E

10 drops Grapefruit Seed extract (natural preservative)

Optional: 1 to 2 tablespoons (25ml) Vegetable Glycerin

Optional: 10 to 20 drops Essential Oil (see below)

Directions

Stir together the oil, emulsifying wax, stearic acid and glycerin in the top part of a double boiler, warming slowly over a low heat until the wax is melted. Remove from heat and pour in the Vitamin E.

In a separate pot on the stove or in the microwave, gently warm the water just until lukewarm.

Slowly pour the water into the oil, stirring briskly with a whisk until the mixture is a uniform color.

Stir in the essential oils and the grapefruit seed extract. Pour the homemade body lotion into a clean, sterilized 8oz (250ml) dark glass or PET plastic bottle and allow it to cool before putting the lid on.

The oil and water components of the lotion will separate as it cools. Shake the bottle every 10 to 20 minutes to re-mix them. Once the lotion has cooled completely, they'll stay mixed.

Store in a cool, dark place.
This recipe makes roughly 8oz (250ml) homemade body lotion.
