What I dont care for about this lighter is that the cover doesnt fully come off, nor does it fold back a good distance. Now the reason you would want to have this feature is so that you could put the electric current directly up against something like kindling or something like that. But you could light paper and apply it that way. But basically this is a high tech cigarette lighter.
The burning element is a plasma beam that makes this high pitch squeal, but is pretty to look at. You get about 300-350 ignitions before you need to recharge the unit. However if you try to burn something say plastic, it will not create a spark. So there are a few draw backs with this product, but it is better than a Bic. If you smoke a pipe, you wont be able to light it. That is where the limitations of the cover come in.

If you are a techy person or just want to impress your friends then you are sure to turn some heads with this. Also because its a plasma burning arch, you can use it in high winds, but like other lighters, not in heavy rain. I would be scared to do so in any water as it is electricity and could shock you, and damage it.
